Join us this summer for an unforgettable experience as Sparrow Song & Dance presents Disney’s The Lion King (Kids)—a high-energy, two-week musical theater camp designed to immerse, inspire, and empower young performers!
In this 2-week production camp, kids will rehearse and perform a professionally adapted version of the Broadway smash hit, Disney’s The Lion King.
Campers will be immersed in every aspect of musical theater—from vocal music and choreography to acting, costumes, makeup, and visual arts.
Campers learn what it takes to put on a full-scale musical while building teamwork, creativity, and confidence.

🎭 What Campers Will Learn
At Sparrow’s Summer Musical Theater Camp, students train in singing, dancing, and acting — the essential skills of any musical theater performer. Each day includes focused classes in all three areas, plus hands-on experience bringing a full production to life!
🎶 Singing (Vocal Class)
Campers build vocal confidence and musicality through:

Vocal warm-ups to strengthen and prepare the voice

Learning voice parts for group numbers

Practicing expressive singing and emotional connection to music

Mastering dynamics and breath control for polished performance
💃 Dance (Movement Class)
Campers develop rhythm, coordination, and stage presence with:

Daily dance warm-ups and technique exercises

Learning foundational musical theater steps

Practicing dance combinations used in the show’s choreography

Moving confidently and with intention across the stage
🎭 Acting (Drama Class)
Campers unlock their creativity and storytelling skills through:

Acting warm-ups to build confidence and expression

Character development and imaginative play

Using facial expressions, gestures, and voice inflection

Learning line pacing and delivery for clear storytelling
🎬 Bringing It All Together
In addition to their daily classes, campers will:

Learn blocking (where to move and when) for each scene

Practice performing with props and set pieces

Learn about behind-the-scenes production: costumes, props, set creation, and more

Rehearse in full costume during our dress rehearsal

Perform live on a real stage for friends, family, and the community in a final musical production
This all-in experience not only reinforces everything they’ve learned, but also gives campers a powerful sense of pride, accomplishment, and joy as they take their final bow.

About The Show
Disney’s The Lion King (Kids)
Our 2025 summer production is a special adaptation of one of the most beloved musicals of all time — Disney’s The Lion King!
This version, designed for young performers, keeps the heart of the story and the energy of the original songs while making it manageable to learn and rehearse in just two weeks.
Auditions & Casting
Auditions are for role placement only—every registered camper will be cast in the show!
Campers may audition on the first day of camp. Those who choose not audition will be placed in the ensemble or assigned a role based on needs and abilities.
Audition requirements:

1 minute of a musical theater song (a cappella or with a track)

Group movement portion
Tuition & Enrollment Info
- Payment Options:

- 2 payments of $380 – OR
- 1 payment of $760
- Payment Plans Available: You can pay in full at enrollment or choose to pay a 50% deposit ($380) to reserve your child’s spot. If you choose the deposit option, we’ll email you an invoice for the remaining balance. The remaining 50% balance is due 1 day before the first day of camp.

Admin Fee: A non-refundable $150 administrative fee is due at the time of enrollment and counts toward your tuition. If your plans change, you’re eligible for a full refund (minus the administrative fee) as long as you withdraw at least 15 days before your session begins.

FAQs
Do campers have to audition?
No. Auditions are only for those who want to be considered for featured or lead roles. Every camper will be cast in the show.
What if my child only wants to sing or dance, but not act (or vice versa)?
Kids can be cast in roles that highlight their strengths while still encouraging growth in all disciplines.
What should my child bring?
A water bottle, packed lunch, snack, comfortable clothes for movement, and jazz dance shoes.
Can we get a refund if we cancel?
The $150 admin fee is non-refundable. Cancellations made 15 days before the start date may receive a partial refund.
